This instead has you arriving at Flying Battery Zone after you’ve beaten Carnival Night Zone, leaving the original cutscene at the end of Mushroom Hill Zone to lead you into Sandopolis. While this may only be a slight change for the Sonic die-hards, the rest of the ROM hack has plenty on offer for fans of the series.

For example, when beating Launch Base Zone when connected to Sonic & Knuckles, the game is rather abrupt in transporting you to the next area. Sonic 3 Complete, however, introduces a rather snazzy cut-scene between the two, connecting the two storylines together for a more integrated experience.
