Pipe Friction Handbook
Description AU$90.00 including GST and postage within Australia. The fourth edition of PIA’s Pipe Friction Handbook is now available. This publication has been fully reviewed and updated to cover any upgrades in Australian Standards since the third edition. The principal changes to the friction tables, (which remains in the same format as in the previous editions) involve the Polyethylene and ABS pipes. For polyethylene pipes the Australian Standard has been upgraded and expanded to cover up 2000mm N.B.
Pipes in some pressure ratings, friction tables for all the additional pipes sizes have been calculated and included in the new edition. Since the third edition the polyethylene pipe manufacturers have rationalized the materials in which this type of pipe is made.
Until a few years ago polyethylene pipe was available as standard in PE80 and PE100 material, it is now only available in PE100. For the Pipe Friction Handbook, this means that we have dispensed with the SDR numbers on each table and replaced them with the PN pressure rating for each class of pipe. This change eliminates the SDR to PN table at the front of the polyethylene section and also eliminates SDR33 class of pipes sizes. For ABS pipes, we reviewed the current Australian Standard that requires this type of pipe to be made in 4 material grades and 26 sizes. The previous Standard only covered 1 material grade and a limited number of sizes. Further investigation revealed that there was only one ABS pipe maker in Australia and while there were several Importers none currently import pipe to the Australian Standard preferring British or European pipe. On this basis it was decided to withdraw ABS pipe from the Friction Handbook to save confusion and a large number of additional tables for what is not a commonly used pipe.
The Performance Pipe Field Handbook. NOTICE This Field Handbook contains selected information that is excerpted and. Fitting and Valve Friction Losses. Refx Nexus 2 Torrent. The fourth edition of PIA’s Pipe Friction Handbook has been fully reviewed and updated to cover any upgrades in Australian Standards since the third edition.
In addition to the changes to the polyethylene and ABS pipe tables the remainder of the book was completely reviewed and updated as required to bring it into line with the latest friction calculation requirements. Related products • • • •.
